It's called The Catalyst and it released this week. Local rock station played it and was immediately bombarded with calls and text messages telling them to never play it again...burn the cd...ect.

Whoever greenlighted this as the first release needs to be fired.

I'm sure you can hit up myspace or youtube or something for a stream of it. But you've been warned.

And they will continue to make a ton of money and bang gorgeous women and do the purest coke available.

Meanwhile we slave away at a desk in an office and go home to mercy-fuck our SOs and drink a shitty domestic macro-brew to erase the stress from the day.

IS THERE NO JUSTICE???

It looks like it was made for the new Medal of Honor:

I like the song. A band is damned if they don't do anything different and don't take risks, and they're damned if they do. I think if you separate this a little from LP expectations of their previous music/sound, it's not so bad.

If there was a mistake, it's making something for a video game.

My favorite LP moment was when they were playing @ Epicenter and the sound cut out.

The crowd cheered.

So start your own band. Seriously all you need is a drummer who can play in 4/4, and a guitarist who can play 1 finger power chords. Any singer should be fine since you'll have autotune. You'll make millions... MILLIONS!

Wow, I thought you were just being harsh, but listening to the song - yea this is pretty bad. usually if nothing else their songs are good for generic action videos but this doesn't really work on any level.

I know, right? I was hoping that it'd eventually bring in some ragey/emo'y/nuemetal riff or two. But none were to be found. My wife heard it in the car on the way home from work and she was like "WTF was that?" And she's usually pretty easy going on music. She rarely has that negative of an opinion on tracks.

Wow just listened to the song... That's some shitty shitty shit right there. I kept waiting for the song to start; for a guitar or something, but instead it just got dumber and dumber. I mean their old material was simple, but at least it was catchy. This is just plain annoying.

It actually had potential if it wasn't just cheesy metallic sounds for the music, I wish they would just play instruments.

The drum machine beat loop is a little sad too, but that is normal for LP.

Sounds like a decent concept for an LP song. ;)

Just listened to the whole thing, I'm with dpodblood here. Song is 90% beginning 10% end, no middle. No guitar riff, no chorus to speak of, nothing. Just sounds like one long intro that fades off in the last 30 seconds or so. And it's not even a good intro. Yeah, shit.

Not to hate on LP though. They me be emo musically challenged retards, but they've made some catchy songs. Kinda like Nickelback (Chad Kroeger's one of those emo kids who pretends he's a hardcore cowboy). For the record, I like some Nickelback too. /runs

Honestly, its the best linkin park song I've heard. Still won't ever chose to listen to it again.

I still listen to "In the End" every now and then. That song is timeless.
