new leaked detonators 6.47

just installed them did a few runs of 3dmark2k gained about 180 points at all resolutions for what is worth

As soon As I finish downloading them I will post some quake 3 scores of drivers 6.31 and these new ones.
System Stats:
P3 733 o/c 924
Asus Cusl2
PC133 128mb
IBM 30gb ATA 100
Elsa GeForce 2 GTS 230/400
Sound Blaster Live
Lucent Tech 56K Modem
So on, and So on

bout to test it out myself 🙂
ill keep you guys updated.......

UPDATE:
ok here we go........
6.35 default test: 4288
6.47 default test: 4371
net gain: 83 points
not all that, equivalent to about a +5mhz overclock on vcard memory and core.......
but ill stay with the new drivers anyway, cause every bit helps and im too lazy to go back 🙂

Ok Systems Stats As Follows
P3 733 O/C to 924 168mhz FSB
Asus CUSL2
Elsa GeForce 2 GTS 230/400

Quake 3 Scores Max Settings
6.31 @ 640x480 122.3FPS
6.31 @ 1024x769 105.2FPS
6.47 @ 640x480 126.7FPS
6.47 # 1024x768 107.8FPS

3D Mark 2000
6.31 7298
6.47 7325

A little improvement here, but my scores seem low to begin with. I Do not know if it is because of the Asus board overclock problems or what.

Anybody running Win2000? It said that it improves the 3DMark score dramatically.

edit: Just downloaded and ran 3DMark. Got a 3536 on the default benchmark with an Athlon 550, 256 megs ram, and GeForce 2 MX. Previously, I scored 3300 at 800x600x16. Is this update just improving the drivers for 3DMark or improving D3D performance across the board?

hey guys, try the Evolva rolling and bumpmapping demo

that is a MUCH better and more accurate test of D3d performance than 3dMark2000.

night181 it looks like you get a nice performance boost in Quake 3.

Dammit I just wish I could try those drivers. I still have to wait until next weeek to get my GF2 MX. :|

What makes me mad is I see systems doing the 640x480 quake 3 at 130+fps and I cant. Than I see my system or less getting 7500+ to 8300+ marks in 3d mark and I cant. It just seems my system is slow.

night181 - you're running at cas3 aren't you? that is part of the reason why you have lower scores. my 700e@1000 gets about 7748, but that's running at 143mhz cas 2-2-2. unfortunately, i doubt that any ram does 168mhz cas2-2-2. 🙁

Yea it is CAS3, waiting for my cas2 muskin(however you spell it) the PC150 ram. 166 bucks for 128, better be good, Another problem is when the Asus CUSL2 mb is overclocked I lose 4x agp and my memory throttle gets mess up, so I lose even more bandwidth. Starting to think the i815E chipset was the wrong way to go.

night, just curious, why the 733 @ 924? A 700e @ 933 would work out better wouldn't it? Again, just curious as to why you have that setup.

Well at first I had a 700 but the problem was I got not get it to go over 815mhz. So I had a chance to trade with a friend who does not overclock for his 733 chip. Figure why not should be able to do something better. Well it did, I wish it was a good 700 but mine was a week 22 phil. chip. It sucked.

hmmm... i have a cusl2, but i never lose agp4x. how exactly do you lose it? i hate to tell you this, but the mushkin pc150 does 150 cas2-3-2, so it's probable that it will only do 168 at cas3-3-3. if that happens, all you've managed to do is waste your money, since you will not see much improvement. the mushkin rev2 is better than the pc150. it hits ~155mhz at cas2-2-2.

When you overclock this board above 140mhz FSB the board disables 4x agp and puts you at 2x. Some people might have found a work around for this but it is still being worked on. Hoping to hear something from Asus on the subject.

night181, go here:

Evolva demo and bumpmapping demo

also, your statement "I'm starting to think i815 was the wrong way to go"

I had a CUSL2 for awhile and sent it back. Not worth it. Just grab y'self a BX board. You don't get the fancy ATA100 or AGPx4, but the performance is still the best out there.

I am running bios version 1003.004. What program are you using to tell if you still have 4x agp mode working?
