New LCD Monitor, dark areas of text?

When reading any type of text, it seems as if some areas of text are 'darker', almost bold even. Is this normal for an LCD?

Not for me, I have 2 LCDs and text looks uniform throughout.

You mean within a single line of text, or text on different parts of the screen? Are you running the LCD at native resolution, and do you have font smoothing turned on? Depending on the exact font and the size of the text, I find that the smoothing sometimes makes text look as you said somewhat "bold".

idk, maybe my eyes were messing with me earlier. but all the text looks normal now.
