it has the same amount of cache as the regular pentium dual cores, so the only diff is the lower tdp and the 533 fsb vs 800fsb for desktop pentium dual cores. at 1733mhz it is probably about equivalent to the 1600mhz e2140. not bad at all imho for a lappy, esp one at that price!

The Core Duo series was out at least 2 years ago. I don't think it's equivalent to the E2140 since the E2140 is a Core 2 Duo and not Core Duo.

My Acer laptop has a T2050 at 1.6GHz with a 533FSB and 2MB L2 Cache. It's fast enough for me, but it struggles a bit playing CS 1.6. But that's because I'm using Intel GMA 950.

well I don't know. Seems like most the Intel laptops there come with the T2370 until you pay way more. I think it'll be fine for her use.
