New Laptop will not sync up with Network...

I just recieved a Dell Inspiron 1705 Laptop. When I take it to work it is having trouble connecting to the Network.

I can access the internet fine but I cannot connect to any other computers for print or file sharing. I input the correct Workgroup into the laptop and my old laptop works with the same settings.

We are using a BEFVP41 Linksys router. Would there be a conflict with this new Laptop and my older Router?

Can you connect to the other computers manually? Like go to Start > Run > \\computername or \\computerip?

Is so, then it's windows network manager that's fvcked up. I'm not too sure how i fixed that... i think just rebooting the router fixed it, but i'm not entirely sure... i remember it didn't work for a week, then one day i checked, and it did.

when you connect your laptop to the work network, ensure that your username and password on your laptop matches the username and password that you use for the network.
