i just got a new Asus F3JM laptop with Core Duo T2400 1.83GHZ, 1GB Ram, nVidia Geforce Go 7600 with XP Pro SP2 preinstalled.
after installing some apps and stuff (Avast!, Stardock Object Desktop) and uninstalling some junkware it came with, i tried updating my video drivers. however, i discovered that the computer takes literally 10-15 minutes to boot into safe mode, then another 10-15 after i restart from safe mode (maybe longer). now, this is really odd, since regular boot takes no longer than a minute and thirty seconds.
i've defragmented everything, made sure the registry was clean, checked for spyware/viruses. nothing has come up, and this problem still exists. not that it's a HUGE issue, but does anybody have a clue what's up?
