New laptop(Question)

I just bought a Compaq from Wal-Mart and the first time I hit the power button the system turned on like normal but nothing on the display. After about 30secs I hit the power again and the display came on and the system shut down. So I hit the power button again and now everything is working fine.

Should I be concerned about this?

After you hit the power button the first time, did you move your cursor or hit any keys?

I am just asking because sometimes the computer is in sleep mode or something.

If it works fine now, I dont think there is anything to be worried about.
This is what i think, hopefully other members can collaborate on this better than me.

I don't think I tried. This is my first new laptop so I figured maybe I did something wrong on first bootup? Is it possible something needed to build some type of charge? I'm a laptop newb.

The On Off buttom of most laptops can be configured to oprerate in different manners (like real On Off, Sleep, Hibrenate etc.).

Read the manual and set it to the way you like.

power it on/off a few more times normally (from the start menu). if it works for 5+ more times then you should be good to go!
