my biggest concern as of now i the sound card..it seems to be letting out random bursts of static when i play games such as battlefield 2 or watch certain movies. it seems fine when i play counter strike source but i was watching enemy at the gates on the air plane and it was getting static every 5 minutes or so..last drivers installed were 8-12-05 but i cant seem to find any newer ones..this goes for the video card as well..cant find any driver updates for it and it seems like some video play back(mpegs and avis) come out like trying to watch a channel you dont get on cable any help would be appreciatd and thanks in advance!

OT - I was thinking about buying that lappy. Apart from the sound issues, hows it treating you? fast, efficient? how do the graphics perform on CS:S ? is the resolution 1680x1050 too small for a 15.4" screen?

How can this be! A Lenovo laptop that is not perfect? Gee I hope this doesn't pop the bubble of all the diehard Lenovo fans (probaby 80% of this forums posters) that think Christ died on the cross for this laptop.

No laptop is perfect, but Lenovo makes some pretty good ones. Apple also makes great laptops (love my MBP) but I know they're not perfect either. Dell seems to be making worse quality laptops than they used to, but they're not that bad overall (except my Inspiron 9200..grrr). I'm sure Acer and Asus make decent laptops but they aren't perfect.
I don't think anyone is claiming that their laptops are perfect. But Lenovo and Apple have higher quality customer service when something goes wrong than a lot of other manufacturers out there and that's what people seem to like to point out.

Back in the day I used to recommend Dell to everyone due to their customer service and cheap prices. It's not that way anymore and now I recommend Lenovo or Apple to people based on their needs. I sometimes recommend a Dell, but only if price is a concern. I will probably never recommend an Acer or Asus or any other DIY laptop since the people that ask me for help in choosing one also are the ones needing tech support later on.

i love my laptop. i recommend everyone get one haha. i run my desktop res at 1600x1024 and it looks beautiful. cs i run at 1024x768 just for better performance but games like eve online..guildwars..wow i run at widescreen no probs. i think it might be a problem with drivers just not being updated and ive been searching around from and the keys feel really fragile as it does on all laptops. but aside from the sound messing up in game and the ocassional "i dont get this channel" problem its perfect...i also love the little thumbprint scanner

EDIT: neither of those drivers listed before were compatable with my computer..or so the setup said

It's not a ThinkPad, so our world is still flat.

Thank-you.

No it doesn't.

It's a Lenovo 3000. Nowhere on the product does it say ThinkPad, nor is it marketed as being one. 😛

The 3000 line was produced to appeal to consumers and small business, and to price compete aggressively against Dell.

wow that lenovo 3000N looks like a great value, its priced around the exact same as my new macbook and same specs pretty much. If i would have waited i wouldve choosen one instead of the apple just because of the warranty. I hate that apple does not offer accidental damage on applecare.
