New laptop, how do I make wireless connect?

I haven't a clue how to get this laptop to connect wirelessly to the internet. It's an ACER EXTENSA 6702WLMi. Can anyone help?

EDIT: Also , is it bad for the laptop battery to stay plugged in to a wall socket?

Has it got wireless onboard?

Have you got the manual for the laptop?
It should be in there.
If you haven't got the manual, you would be able to dl it from Acer without too much hassle.

Has it got wireless onboard? Yes, Intel Centrino

Have you got the manual for the laptop? Yes

But it doesn't have any useful information on how to set up a wireless connection. PLEASE HELP!

I never have had the honour of using a centrino laptop - so you may have to help me out here.
Is there an option in BIOS for enabling wifi?
If so, enable it.

If it is already enabled, then install the drivers for it - BUT first, check in device manager to see if it is already installed.
If it is, then,
have you got a wifi router running? - that is the next step.
