New HP laptop for wife. The first time I restart, W10 installs some updates and upon reboot, it goes into HP recovery mode.
So I try system restore....fails
My only other option was to factory restore.....success but I had to start all over.

Then I go through the settings to set it all up how she likes it. Install iTunes..etc. This time I removed all of the junk ware HP installed...thinking maybe it was a culprit with some kind of update causing corruption. I removed hundreds of crap files like Wild Tangent, HP support...etc. Tweaked some settings for performance and everything was working great...I was just about to present it to my wife today for her birthday when I rebooted one last time and saw Windows instilling some updates..... and apparently that 3rd party stuff wasn't the problem because it happened all over again immediately after W10 updates.... again! Like wtf really?. Right back into Recovery mode I sit and am about to find some kittens to punch.

I'm so rage mode right now. I literally wasted 6 hours today messing with this.
WTF can possibly be wrong with this? My gaming rig didn't have any update issues and runs fine with W10. I don't get it....it's a normal Intel laptop except it's from HP. I would send it back but would be a serious pain...got it on sale from HSN just before W10 released and didn't open it until yesterday to get it setup.

Personally, I can't help but think there is a Windows driver update at work here. See if you can pull up a system restore point from before the issue occurred, then under the Hardware tab in System properties, tell it not to download driver updates.
