Its going to come with Vista on it, but I dont intend to leave it that way. I may, at most, use it for a week, just to get a familiarity with the layout of things.
Since the beginning of the year Ive been using Xubuntu, and rather like it, for the most part. But I want to explore my options and see if there's something that suits me better.
I dont have any special requirements, really. Email, web browsing, cd ripping, mp3 convrsion, nothing out of the ordinary at all. Whatever I use ill probably try enlightenment first, and go from there if i want to try something else (i like XFCE so far but want to play with another manager or two). I just need to be able to find decent documentation or community help when i need something
So im open to suggestions. Im leaning towards trying straight Debian, or maybe Fedora Core. Im tempted to give FreeBSD a try just for the hell of it.
If you could make some suggestions, give pros and cons of each distro/os or compare it to Ubuntu thatd be great. Im not in a hurry, and am interested in *learning* about whatever I go with, as I dont intend to use windows for personal use again.
Thanks
