We got a new Toshiba P200D, and now it got a little warmer here, like 23 deg celcius in the room compared to 20 in winter.

My wife is an avid WoW gamer - and since a few days the laptop is constantly overheating which results in a shut-off without any warning after some time when she's playing.

I built a notebook cooler now out of a stand and a 120mm fan which blows ait to the underside of the laptop - before she used this stand also, but it didnt have any holes. (I put the holes and the fan in it yesterday).

My Q is now whether it's "normal" that a pretty new lappy is constantly overheating.

I was checking AMD specs for the turion tl-64 CPU, saying the max core temp is 95...so i did some tests (without the graphics cards running)...and it is hitting 93ish pretty quickly running OCCT or prime. So i can see the LT/CPU reaching 95 easily after a while while gaming.

I hope my self-made cooler fixes it now.

There are two more solution:

1) send notebook to warranty service, maybe let them apply new TIM and blow out dust etc.
2) Use rmclock and "force" lower CPU VID and try lower vcore? (At least as long as it's "hot" here... )

Any input?
