Belkins recently released a new series of KVMs

The "E Series" and the SOHO series.

Both offer better (claimed) support of high resolution than anything out there: 2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz should cover you for the next few years.

E Series does not have firmware upgrades but it's cheap. A four porter can be had for $68 at pagecomputer or dell.

SOHO series is more expensive. It has really funky design, upgradeable firmware, and models that support USB and Sound/Microphone switching.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Belkin Launches New Generation Of OmniCube?KVM Switches
New SOHO and E Series Lines To Replace Belkin OmniCube? KVM Switches

(Compton, CA) - September 5, 2001 - Belkin, the leading manufacturer of computer peripherals and accessories, today announced that it will be introducing its re-designed line of OmniCube? Keyboard/Video/Mouse (KVM) switches at the Networld + Interop Trade Show in Atlanta, GA, September 11-13. Totally re-designed from the ground up, the new line of OmniCube KVMs, which are part of the ever-popular OmniView? family of KVMs at Belkin, will be made available in two different sub-categories: The OmniView Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) Series and the OmniView E Series. Both lines will begin shipping in North America September 11, 2001.

The Belkin SOHO Series KVM Switches are available in 4 models. Two support PS/2 and Universal Serial Bus (USB) connectivity and are available in a 2-port (F1DS102T - ESP $149) and a 4-port (F1DS104T - ESP $179) model. The other two models support PS/2 connectivity only and are also available in a 2- (F1DS102P - ESP $129) and a 4-port (F1DS104P - ESP $159) model. All four SOHO Series KVM Switches support audio and microphone switching, which allow the user to switch between computers using only one set of speakers and a microphone without having to unplug and re-plug them. All four are also Flash Upgradeable, so users can download the latest firmware updates to ensure compatibility with the latest computers and devices. Other features include: cable management through the new enclosure design, hot key functionality and front panel push-button selection, keyboard and PS/2 emulation, supports higher resolution up to 2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz, requires no power supply, and a Belkin 5-year warranty.

Next, the Belkin E Series OmniView KVM Switches will be available in a 2-port (F1DB102P - ESP $79), a 4-port (F1DB104P - ESP $99), and a bundled set (F1DB102P-B - ESP $99), which includes a 2-port E Series KVM Switch and the necessary all-in-one cables to get the user up and running. The E Series line supports higher resolutions of up to 2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz and requires no power supply as the power is drawn off the keyboard port of the computer, which means less cables for users to hassle with. Standard features include: hot key switching, front panel push-button selection, keyboard and PS/2 emulation for error-free boot-up, 10-second AutoScan function, cross-platform compatibility (when used with the OmniView Mac® and Sun Adapter), and a Belkin 2-year Warranty
