New KT7 board is at war with TNT card -- help!

Replaced BE6 with KT7 and now I cannot alter Video settings from lowest res' and poorest colors (16). All was well before MB swap, and everything ELSE is fine now.

Settings window offers 16/256/hi and res up to 1024x. None of that "sticks". Always requires reboot (even when Advanced Setting says not to require it) and never changes from lousy settings.

One oddity... I've got a larger virtual window than the screen -- and I've moved Explorer out of the area I can access! (I can only access it by setting Max [full-screen] which does make it match the screen.) 'Gotta "love" MS for the "features" they build in!

I've deleted and reloaded every video driver I can think of. Downloaded latest CL drivers and flashed CL card and MB. Also downloaded latest VIA drivers. Etc etc.

So... I'd appreciate any sage advice.

John (hoping that THIS time I don't accidentally delete the posting as I finish!)

I would normally do a clean install of OS,then install the Via 4 in 1 drivers first before any other drivers, btw the TNT works fine I had one on my MSI K7T PRO (also KT133 chipset),anyway you can try removing all drivers & using Nvidia reference drivers(5.22,5.30 work well),do some BIOS tweaks like disable fastwrites, disable all video shadowing. But a clean install of OS does normally help.
