Last fall my awesome tomcat, Don Vito Corleone (he had the name years before I used it as an online handle) died of chronic renal failure. I really wasn't ready to get a new animal for a while, but this past weekend decided to take the plunge. I got my two kittens, who are brothers, from a local shelter. It's really a delight having two kittens at once - I had never realized how much they'd entertain one another, so on balance it's a lot less work than having one kitten.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Lenny and Carl (just as is the case with their namesakes, Carl is the black guy):

I have to end with a pic of the late Vito - miss you, buddy!

Bwahaha!

Love me some cats! We recently went down to one, and it IS noticable the difference when they have a buddy to play with. We really gotta get another, those two of yours are gonna have a great life together!

I never intended on having more than one cat, but I have a brother and sister now. They're good company for each other. The tom is a long furred tuxedo, with the blackest black you can imagine. He virtually disappears when he has all his white covered. He's also a fuckin' weirdo :^D The girl's kind of homely. She's short furred, and predominantly grey, but has orange, and tan mixed in. She's a real sweetheart though, and is seldom far from my side. Together they have good personality diversity, and are a lot of fun.

Congratulations on your new kitties!

Boy kitteh is so much more fun when young and chill later on. Girl kitteh can be so moody.

Yeah, my own experiences with male cats have generally been better than with females. Vito was the most amazing pet I've ever seen, but I've really never known a male cat that wasn't basically lovable, whereas I've known some pretty exasperating females.
