New Kia Sportage
Where the barf icon? 😉
The next Kia Sportage grows more sophisticated in its next generation. Kia released photos and initial specs of the 2005 model yesterday in advance of its Paris auto show debut in September. In the States, the Sportage will reappear after a short absence from the market in two versions - four-cylinder or V-6-powered, with a choice of two- or all-wheel drive. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder will offer all-wheel drive only with a five-speed manual gearbox; the automatics are four-speed units. The manual gearbox will not be available with the V-6 in the first model year. Standard safety features include six airbags, including full-length side-curtain airbags and four-wheel disc brakes (with standard anti-lock on AWD V-6 models and available on some other models). Inside, the Sportage gets a spare tire hidden under the cargo floor, a tailgate with flip-up glass, fold-flat front seats, and flip-fold rear seats. Sales begin early in 2005.
