Unfortunately it wasn't the great one I wanted. But it is a job and I'll be challenged in the role.

I'll be helping WebSphere to become a much better product. But it also means going back to IBM (which I'm not too thrilled with) and having not-so-great pay for the type of work done; yet it is work and it is pay.

The job I wanted was a project managers position with a small on-line teaching/instruction company. They went with someone who may not have had as strong management skills as I, but had contacts in the non-profit industry (which they sell most of their products to).

I still have resumes out to other promising jobs but those are just in the beginning stages.

I am thankful for this new job and all the help and support people have given me while I was unemployed. This job market has been the worst I've ever seen (in 20 years) and many, many competent and hard working people are still looking for work. And too, it seems those most incapable of doing the work, or just outright incompetent, are working and making life miserable for those who are working.

So - best of luck to all! I'm heading out to the beach for a wedding. The best thing I can give the bride and groom is a rain-free evening, so I need to concentrate all my will power and psychotic... ahem, I mean, psychic powers to drive off the storm clouds now!

have a great weekend!

Congratulations to ya.

Now here's hoping that I get the job I'm interviewing for later on today. So I can leave this consultant gig behind...
