New job assignment starting May 1, fashion help requested

I'll be staying in the same department, but my job duties will be switching on May 1, 2004. I'll be working in a more office-like environment instead of the stuff I'm doing now, which is more facility and equipment-oriented. Right now I wear cordorouys or a nice pair of jeans and a polo shirt to work.

Anyway, I met with my future supervisor today and he said khakis and an oxford are fine. Anyway, I'm looking for some nice-looking high-quality khakis that'll be comfortable and will look great with a pair of Docs that I already own (they're brown, in case it's important).

I absolutely LOVE Land's End oxfords, so I'll be ordering several of them in the next week (in yellow, french blue and red), but I'd like some guidance as to where to get some nice khakis. Non-pleated, please.

Thanks.

Does their stuff ever go on sale? I don't mind paying $80 for a pair of pants that'll last forever, but if I know it'll be on sale I'll wait.

Yes, it does. During Christmas, pants that used to cost $60 were $25. Maybe you have to wait for another holiday or something.

it does eventually. also they usually mail coupons. sign up for their mailing list.

banana has good pants too, but they're also expensive. hehe.

you can try dept stores, like macy's, and go for the name brands, and take those extra 15% off coupons that are always in the paper.

Who cares about getting decent pants? Why not get some horrible fitting pants and save the money so that you can buy the latest and coolest video card? I think that you can probably buy a nice pair of orange and yellow colored pants from Wal Mart for about $10. I think the only available size is 44x27, but that should still be OK.

Thanks for the advice, except ^. :) Also, I'd also like to get a pair of year-round wool dress pants. What should I know about lightweight, year-round and other tag words that go with wool? I'd like to wear them in any season.

how about brooks brothers.... jcrew is so blatantly 3rd world in their outsourcing... you pay so much for something that costs them pennies. brooks, some things are at least made in places where their cost is more in line with the price they charge you... for me i feel less ripped off for what i buy.

btw i recommend you continue with landsend, some things are at least made in places like hongkong, and landsend as you may know, has a good support policy...
