Hello. Just picked up a 2100+ to give a mild boost to my 1700+ machine, and am looking to overclock the crap out of it for the next 6 months or so, until I buy an Athlon64. The chip is a 0308 JIUHB...is this clock locked or not? I can't try it until I get home in about 7 hours, but I'm looking forward to trying this. I'll be running it on a Soyo Dragon Plus, which has multipliers up to 14. Assuming it was my RAM or other system devices that limited my 1700+ overclock to 143 FSB, that gives me 2.0 GHz if I can set it at 14x...if not, it's not going to be much of an overclock at all. Any ideas?

Yes, well....got home, and I'm an idiot. It would help if I truly researched the whole thing before buying.

I saw that my motherboard supported up to Xp 2100+, and so I never even thought about the different voltage required on the T-bred's as opposed to the Palominos....yup...it doesn't work. Period. After mucho frustration, and putting my old chip back in, I did reaserach and sure enough, SOYO's website says it won't work with T-bred processors. D'oh! Trying to RMA it via Newegg, but since it was my mistake, we'll see if they take it back. If not, I have a new chip for sale!

Rather than sell your new CPU why not sell your old mobo and buy a new one that supports all the S462 chips? I highly recommend NF2 boards.

The Shuttle AN35N is a great NF2 board for like 55 bucks I would go that route.

Well, I'm reluctant to go that route simply because I'm planning on upgrading to an Athlon64 3500+ in about 4-6 months, and I really don't feel like doing a full system reinstall for a new motherboard, then doing it again in 5 months.

i'm doing just this, i bought an axp 2400+ 45W mobile cpu, and my mobo does not even know what hte cpu is and it underclocks it to 1667mhz because the highest multiplyer is 12.5, so i purchased the an35n off newegg and will be installing it tonight,

$55 for an nf2 ultra is a great deal, especially for a decent ocing board
