i hear that..checked out a preview for this at accelenation i think about 239823 years ago...

uses the latest b0 stepping, but still doesn't seem too up to par...it can "officially" take pc400 DDR....that is, the pci and agp bus won't be running otu of spec...u failed ot mentioned selectable AGP ratios, as well the aforementioned pci/clk ratio

actually, the finally version uses the C0 stepping rather the B0 stepping nortexoid mentioned. However, the memory performance is still no comparison to KT266A, the gaming performance is surprisingly strong though if not better than KT266A.

I think you guys need to go to the nearest massage parlor, to relieve some of that pent up anger.

God I hope so... 100Mhz was around for not too long and 133MHz stepped in... WE NEED TO LEAVE IT NOW!!! But XP333 is crap in memory performance for a 2nd gen DDR board... then again it's using an ALi chipset so that explains a lot. ALi's first gen DDR chipset didn't perform any better than SDR boards... Seems like they're always using the latest technology and attaining yesterday's technology's performance...

heh lmao, so we base our buying decisions entirely on synthetic marks, rather than the real world scores? I don't know about you, but I think synthetic tests can be wrong in some cases. perhaps ALi goes about doing things a bit differently than Via, causing somewhat lower synthetic scores, but helping out in applications (such as games) in the end? the only way to know is to work there :)

but seriously, if that board gets released any time soon, that might be the one for me!

soccerman - tis true.

the ali magik scores strong in real-world benchmarks for the most part...that is, a board w/ a polished bios at least...and even if slower, not by much...plus there's no southbridge issue..

i'm eagerly awaiting a SIS 745 board however...

(from the inquirer)

The wonder company is VIA. This ALL CAPS giant is being awfully quiet about its PC333 chipset. They use different tactic in this game. They decided to say just few things about it but not to many. We are going in that direction ? PC333 - but we won?t be as loud as the others right now since there are few things that need to be finalized about this memory support ? they said. So they are going into same direction but just waiting for standards to be finalized.

Basically, PC333 is scheduled for early Q1 and we can expect VIA products to drop out of the sky at that time.

After that they will start to tack about PC400 support! Greed for speed leads technology and greed pure and simple brings new products to market... µ

Let's just hope that they can have the same quality of the KT266A in all of their newer products.
