lighter then 2 cd's? Its 5.6 oz the small one = 159g. The larger one 6.2oz = 175g.
How much do cd's weigh?
A few things I like don't:
can't exchange data without the docking station with you = not so good for trasnfering files with others unless you take the dock with you. More hassle then it should have been. Old iPod was simple fire and connection to unit.
Doesn't have an LCD on the remote = suck. Such a basic feature and on a $500 piece of it doesn't have it? WTF?
8hrs battery life. Even worse then 10hrs on the old ones.....
Good things:
Hopefully they will have the headphones cut to a more *normal* size.
They finally sorted out the 3.5mm plug for the headphone. I guess now it will be like the Sony headphones and it doesn't stick out but come out at the side instead. Much better.
A bility to make playlist on the iPod is good...
Don't like the new button layout. I prefered the old one.
Won't get an iPod as its too long, not light enough, no lcd on remote and the iPod not having connection wires directly on it without the doc. Unless they have Dock Connector plug to firewire or usb2.....

Just got it, had the zen before. I got the 10gig + remote accessory for $332 with the educational discount + shipping.
CONS OF IPOD: It cost $100 to upgrade from the Zen, musicmatch kind of sucks (especially the IPOD addition), playlist managment sucks, having no case sucks ($40 is way too much). The earphones hurt my ear and don't sound that good. Lost 10 gigs of space compared to zen. No iTunes. Lost 3 hours of battery life compare to Zen. Sleek surface easily scratches.
PROS: size, navigation, looks, weight, remote control (no remote controls for zen).
You be the judge.

Make sure you download Ephpod, it's much better than that musicmatch crap. Use that to manage your playlists. And if you're using those 50 cent headphones to listen to a 300 dollar piece of equipment, something's wrong!
