let's talk about the weight issue first. an item that weighs the least does not automatically mean it's the smallest. A beach ball is lighter than a baseball yes? For example, a blown up beach ball is much larger than a baseball, but the baseball is much smaller in size. so there you go, who's the idiot?
2nd, let's talk about overall volume issue. yes, if you take HxWxD and do math on it, the shuffle has a smaller volume, but what about total footprint? you can fit the mobiBLU in a 1" cube container. Can you do the same with the shuffle? Hells no, so again, is the shuffle really smaller than the mobiBLU? no, in overall footprint, it is in fact much larger than the cube. You can try to cram the shuffle into an 1" container, but you will fail. The shuffle is much thinner than the cube, but overall footprint, it's much larger. Again, Apple fanboi's proving why they are all idiots on ATOT.

And your whole "footprint" argument is also silly. Footprint has nothing to do with a 1 inch cube, the only two rational definitions for footprint would be the area of one side, probably most correct, or the total area.

but I do know that you can put the mobiBLU into both an 1" cube and 1.63" cube container. You can only put the new shuffle into the second one.
Apples says it's the smallest in the world, why can't it fit into a 1" container? If it really is the smallest in the world, it would be able to fit into a container smaller than the mobiBLU. Bottom line, it is not the smallest.
Does that mean I hate the new shuffle? no, I like it because it's easier to use than the mobiBLU, but it's not the smallest.

I'm simply debating whether or not the new shuffle is the world's smallest MP3 player and you're the one calling people names without knowing how to properly debate an issue.
Fanboi's get all defensive when someone else points out a flaw or an outright lie and automatically assumes the person calling out the lie is a fanboi of competing products. They try to duck the real questions and result to calling names because that's the only out they know. who's the real fanboi?
Smallness can't be defined by some arbitrary container. I could propose a container the Ipod would fit in and the mobilu wouldn't fit in. It's meaningless to define "smallest" that way.
Take a container that is 3/4 inch thick by 4 feet by 8 feet. Could I could prove that a 1/2 inch thick sheet of plywood is smaller than a mobilu because the plywood would fit and the mobilu wouldn't ?
It isn't a debate, it's a matter of arithmetic.
And as far as portable devices go, that cube is one of the (if not the) thickest on the market.
hell, I like it too and I might get one. But if I do, I'm not going to lie to myself and call it the world's smallest MP3 player...and that's the point that people here aren't getting...

Stop trying to justify yourself by using your silly examples. If I were to use your logic and take the new Nano's footprint area (1.62" x 0.41" = 0.6642 sq. in.), it is still less than the footprint area of the cube (1" x 1" = 1 sq. in.). Anyway, who the flyign fvck would care about fitting a device inside a cubic container? No one. So please STFU and accept that you got owned.

When comparing objects that do not have equal dimensional ratios, the only reasonable comparison is a volume comparison. You're simply trying to use semantics to prove a point that can only be proven through said use of semantics.
On top of that, the awkward shape of the cube is asinine, like Eug said. Something that large is going to protrude from a pocket awkwardly. A trifold wallet in my back pocket is awkward enough at times, and it doesn't even protrude as much as the cube.
Also, when talking about overall footprint, for example when referring to monitors, you have to take into account the....overall dimensions. So in overall footprint, the cube is larger.
Your use of some arbitary container is pathetic. Can the cube fit into any rectangular box that is less than a 0.5" in one dimension? Nope. Hell, I guess using your logic, a 1.62" cube would be the same size as the Shuffle, right?

Oh, and BTW. As far as being a fanboi, the only iPod I've ever owned was a 1G Mini I gave to my brother after a few months. GG, Nice Try, Press Start to Play Again.
