So this iPad would be perfect for books? I won't look back and miss my kindle anymore?

In broad daylight you will miss your Kindle.

And when charging the iPad, you will miss your Kindle.

But when you actually concentrate on the book you are reading and forget about your surroundings, you won't miss the Kindle anymore. And it has colors.

I just realized why the iPad 3 seems smoother than the iPad 2.

That's because the screen doesn't have as much ghosting!

I compared my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 to my iPad 3 by sliding my finger back and forth on the homescreen, and sure enough, the iPad 3's screen showed very minimal ghosting to me, whereas it's slightly worse on the iPhone 4, and almost borderline bad on the iPad 2.

Response time seems to have gotten a boost too, it seems. Great stuffs!

My favorite iPad game is Kingdom Rush. Best tower defense game I've played since Defense Grid.

Mentioning DG as one of the best means you know what your talking about......one of my all times FACS on the Xbox. And I agree on Kingdom Rush.

I upgraded from iPad 2 to the New iPad, but seriously, the New iPad is what iPad 2 should have been. Overall user experience is better, but I am not sure it is worth the upgrade cost from iPad 2.

Loved my 2, sold it and got the new one on launch day... Love it even more, the screen makes the user experience that much better. Definitely missing the jailbreak but early indications show we may not have to wait that long which would be fantastic!

Just went to my brother's house to check it out and damn, the screen really is impressive. Buy it just for the screen itself. It's seriously so damn good. I can't wait until other tablets get similar screens.

Ugh, this new retina crap is killing me. All of those large games got updated, and iTunes sees it fit to not delete the old game data (e.g. that 1GB+ of data) before putting the new files on there. Given I don't have much space left on my iPad, I'm stuck updating these games for no new features (on my iPad 2) many times over until it finally takes... or I could find some crappy, large games to remove.

iTunes still refuses to put Chaos Rings II on my iPad because of this crap. It was finally able to sync Real Racing 2, Asphalt 6 and Gangstar Rio this time at least, so I should be good the next go around.

Why, oh why can't I get a 128GB iPad? 🙁

It's not just that other tablets need to get similar screens, but developers have to update their apps for high res graphics. On iOS, there is a strong incentive to upgrade because apps look like crap without it and there's a large number of people to complain, but I'm not sure any Android tablet has the kind of clout the iPhone 4 and 3rd gen iPad have. Windows 8 won't have to deal with that issue since I'm pretty sure all apps have to supply 100%, 140%, and 180% artwork to be validated during the submission process for the Windows store.
