I got a new intel 530 ssd, 2 weeks ago, and today I noticed that the those 2 smart attributes have increased from zero:

05 100 100 __0 000000000002 Re-Allocated Sector Count
AB 100 100 __0 000000000001 Program Fail Count

I find that to be pretty unusual for what is supposed to be pretty good NAND.

How much should I really be worried ..
I got it from amazon. Should I return it to them ?
Is it illegible for return for this reason ?

Other irrelavant smart attributes:

09 100 100 __0 7D3000000030 Power-On Hours Count
0C 100 100 __0 000000000025 Power Cycle Count
F1 100 100 __0 00000000456F Total LBAs Written
F2 100 100 __0 0000000082F0 Total LBAs Read
F9 100 100 __0 00000000060A Total NAND Writes

The rest is either zero or not important.

You could just RMA from intel.. Or even ask intel about that.
All companies have duds...

I wouldn't worry about it. Its probably just finding some early life failure blocks. If it keeps up then maybe you can worry. I would give it some time though.

I am thinking the same thing , got several XM-25 and with one XV-40GB there where 6 relocated sectors from day 1 . The ssd is performing as boot ssd with no problems ,so that is the main thing .The ssd must be stable and performing like it should .

After reading all the replies, I am considering keeping it for a bit to see if the number increase or not.

The problem is, I have a small window of time in which I can return the SSD to Amazon, after that I will have to deal with Intel support.

So my question is .. How would Intel's support deal with such issue, and would they send a refurbished SSD like Crucial does, or will they send a brand new one ?

my experience, I've RMA'd about 5 drives to Intel, and received new replacements.

Send it back, problem solved. Would you buy a car that had parts working but were about to fail? No. hence send it back.
