Notes:
1. Known Issue is defined as a potential RST issue that has been replicated internally by the Rapid Storage Technology team but has not been root caused to be an RST defect.
2. Microsoft Windows Vista* (32 & 64-bit) is not supported on Panther Point based platforms.
3. The RAID OROM version for this release is 11.0.0.1339, the driver and user interface version is 11.0.0.1032.
Note: An Intel core branded CPU is required to enable the Smart Response Technology feature beginning with this 11.0.0.1339 OROM release.
4. This release supports the co-existence of the Intel® Smart Response Technology caching solution and the Intel® Rapid Start Technology solution on a single SSD.
Note: An RST 11.0 OROM is required to support this configuration
5. This release introduces a new enhancement referred to as HDD Power-Up in Standby (PUIS) supporting version 2 of Intel® Smart Connect Technology. Refer to the OEM Technical Guide within this kit for details pertaining to this feature.
6. This release includes both the RAIDCFG32 & RAIDCFG64 utilities which are contained in the RAIDcmd utility component of this kit.
7. When an ODD is in the Zero Power state, some ODDs may disappear when a hardware re-scan is initiated via the Windows Device Manager. A second hardware re-scan conducted before the Zero Power Idle Timeout value is reached (default is 60s) will return the drive to an OS visible state. This behavior is believed to be related to the length of time an ODD requires to become ready during power on from the zero-power state.
8. Microsoft* .NET Framework 3.0 is required to be installed on the system in order for the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology User Interface to install. Note that not all Microsoft* Operating Systems have .NET 3.0 installed by default. Refer to the Microsoft* website for details.
9. A Vista OS Installation using a Matrix RAID Array on a system with a 9.5 or newer OROM requires the user to F6 a 9.5 or newer driver.
10. Possible issue where RST is slow to start on Windows XP or Vista with .NET 3.0
Issue description: Under certain network conditions, on systems with .NET 3.0, the RST application and notification icon (a.k.a. tray icon) may take about a minute to start.
Resolution: Contact Microsoft* to receive the hot fix described by KB article 936707 or upgrade to .NET 3.5.
11. Possible Issue regarding File writes on Windows XP with Service Pack 2
Issue description: System hangs, ERROR_NO_SYSTEM_RESOURCES or ERROR_NOT_ENOUGH_QUOTA observed when writing large numbers of files on Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
Resolution: Contact Microsoft* to receive the hot fix described by KB article 888413.

Awesome! TRIM for RAID, plus, if I read it right, we won't have to go through a gauntlet to install SRT + Boot sector on the same ssd.

what does that mean? will i be able to install that on my system?

I believe the manufacturer of your mobo needs to release a new BIOS that will update the OROM for the SATA controller.

I thought TRIM support would be available with the 11.5 IRST drivers along with the 11.5 OROM? That's what I have been reading.

many/most versions of Intels OROM's and driivers are forwards/backwards compatible and it's more about all the various features being supported consistently between the matched pairs for full effect. Not saying that things don't go wrong on ocassion.. but with Intel's stuff it's rare and they are great like that.

And I laugh everytime I read that particular list of fixes. Part of that list(and the one's before it as this driver debugging has progressed over this last year with umpteen different revisions) are likely some of the causes for the severe Sandforce follies early after release. Buggy sata drivers.. buggy SSD firmware.. freezing and BSOD?.. who'da thunk it. lol

when that does happen.. it would be nice if trim made that much of a difference on my Sandforce array. lol

trim won't make much difference for those with that controller. GC is still the king

That's right, raid trim is 11.5. I can wait, my g2 is still awesome after a month with no trim. And I'm planning an IVB-based complete rebuild in 11 mos, anyway.

thanks for the heads up , but I think I'll wait and get them from the Intel download when they come out.

Anyone aware if these bring support for X79 ? Still using the enterprise version, not a big deal I guess, but curious.

Does this driver do anything for me ??? Or I shouldn't mess with it...

Well that depends we already know your F4's are blazing fast. However these drivers when released (11.5) will provide TRIM to SSD's in Raid. So not sure you want to put some dirty slow SSD in that heaven of I/O bliss you got there :)

last I heard.. X79 is still only using enterprise version only. Which is part of the reason that the X79 is a notch slower than the 6 series setups. They'll eventually get it right and the X79 will pull along side.. maybe even surpass the 6 series.

These still aren't on the Intel website in drivers.

Any reason? I always prefer to get things from the horses mouth.

I am on the x79, I loaded these through the device manager, had to use the x64 file, not the regular installer. Two reboots and all is fine. Been using them for a few days now.
They gave me my write speeds back, which are slowed by the enterprise driver set. My 2 drive ssd R0 is just as fast as on the p67 now.

yeah.. that's the way that many folks on P67/Z68 are having to install the enterprise versions on their boards since they are intended to be used on X79.

Interested to see any before and after screens to back that up?

That's pretty impressive. I threw caution to the wind, and installed them. Probably placebo effect but my laptop feels faster with my X-25V 40GB. :p
Installed on my desktop with a G2 160GB as well.

Interesting. Looks like the reads are similar except for the 4k Queue Depth of 16. The big improvement seems to come from the 4k writes.
