new Intel build

I'm about to build a new system with an ASUS Maximus Formula board along with the E8400 CPU...I've had AMD for so long that I forgot how to do an Intel build...with AMD I needed the nForce drivers, AMD dual core drivers etc...do I need anything like that with Intel?...what is your installation order?

I know Intel has their Software Installation Utilty and LAN drivers but what else do I need to pay attention for?

Quite simply go to Asus' website for their drivers, never hurts to check individual component comapnies for drivers either, just go to their website (which they should have) and get the drivers from them, drivers are drivers, doesn't really matter in most cases if you use AMD or Intel.

I tend to get the latest Intel 3-series chipset drivers directly from Intel. The remaining drivers (audio, network, acpi, etc) you will most likely need to source directly from the manufacturer of the board (ASUS).

Note that if you configure the SATA controller for either AHCI/RAID mode you will need the Intel Matrix Storage Technology drivers on floppy (XP) or USB (Vista), otherwise, the drives will not be detected during setup.

You'll also need them if your version of WinXP is not at least SP2 ...
