New Intel 975 Mobo

Just setting up a new system with the Intel Box 975 mobo. Configured for no RAID. Dual 320GB disks.

During boot the BIOS screen takes about 20 to 25 seconds to find the drives before loading windows. This is outrageous... Any ideas how to fix this?

Have you disabled the Raid setting in the bios?

Sounds like a Bios setting is not set right for your setup.

RAID is disabled. It is 35 seconds for Windows to get to the desktop. On my AMD 3700 based machine it's 5 seconds.

Try this,

1) unplug all external harddrives
2) disable QFANs
3) Disable JMICRON

Now try it.

Then re-plug in your external HD if you have one

This issue has actually been addressed before. It seems the 975xbx is slow to boot. I can't seem to find my post about it asking about the same question, but there is a page someone linked on steps to take to cut down on this boot time.

Mine will do this sometimes and freeze when I go into bios almost everytime :thumbsdown:
