New installation of XP Pro

I don't remember seeing it after installing XP Pro in my alternate OS partition the other day but after installing a few things there's an icon labeled usereg.exe. I don't want to run this sucker, don't know what it is. Any clue?
 
Looks like it's got to do with the installation of the software that came with my Canon Canoscan Lide 35 scanner, looking at the properties for the icon. Weird that they'd put that thing on my desktop... 😕
