Hi, I just installed an MCP6P M2+ according to all the quickstart instructions that came with the equipment. I plugged the video into the onboard video connection and turned the system on and my monitor gets no signal. Amber light only, no green. Any suggestions where to look? There aren't any beeps or any indication that anything is wrong with the installation, in fact it sounds like it's running properly, but without video it's a little difficult to tell. Thanks in advance.

Double check all your conenctions. A list of all your components would help to rule out any problems.

I have doublechecked the video connection with a couple of different monitors with no joy. Below are my components:

1. MCP6P M2+ Motherboard
2. AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Socket AM2 CPU
3. Kingston 4096 MB PC6400 DDR2 800 MHz RAM
4. OCZ 600W Stealth Xtreme Power Supply

and not that it's necessary since I can't get to this stage but...

5. Seagate 1TB Serial ATA HD

Not talking the video connection. I mean check all connections. Unplug and replug in every cable and card. Ensure they are in teh right place and that they are securly plugged in. The CPU in particular can be an issue. If its not in the socket right then the board may not post at all. There is also the possibility that the new board is DOA or a component was damaged durring the motherboard change.

Thanks everyone for the help. I reseated the CPU, pulled both memsticks and reseated one, and tried again. That solved my problem. I then powered down and installed second memstick and was still in business. Not sure which was the issue, but I'm going with CPU since I didn't get any memory post errors when I powered on before.

Misplaced, I would try reseating your CPU.
