New Install Not Genuine

I just did did a new install of Win7 Prof 64bit onto a newly built system. Immediately after my 1st reboot, I get a message telling me that my that the activation period has expired and that i must activate. This was within one hour of installation. What gives?

This is a legit physical copy that I purchased. Was not connected to the internet when installing and unchecked the automatic activation box when installing. I though there was supposed to be some sort of grace period before you were required to activate?

The only possible explanation I can think of is that you adjusted the system clock to a time beyond the grace period.

As noted, any resetting of the system clock after installing Windows will likely trigger an Activation request.

You should be able to run "slmgr /rearm" from an Administrator-level command prompt to extend the trial for another 30 days.
