I like to protect my investments, and for $14.95 shipped overnight, looked like a good deal.

NOPE, don't sell anything, just use and respect their products. I really like my Back-UPS Pro USB, and it works well in W2K. I also feel a bit of brand loyalty since they have sent me a few cool FREE things. Hopefully getting a Free Surgestation. The deal is most people overlook power protection for their Notebooks, just a friendly suggestion.

You sound like you're trying to sell us this product. Kind of like an APC salesman.

what's the difference between these 3? Are the expensive ones voltage converters as well so that we can use it to connect in other countries?

I would pay 1.00 more to have it tomorrow.

The difference that I can see is that the inline protector has a higher Joule rating 180 vs 120 for the notebook plug in model.

From what I gather the Inline version is not a current convertor but will handle the higher power ratings overseas.

Looks like the inline model might work with an airline seat, anyone here ever used one?

I bought the 14.95 model just to have when I take my new Inspiron on the road for Christmas vacation.

ok, I see it now. But the $14.95 model clearly isn't in-line from the picture. I think only the $34.95 models are in-line. Do you know for sure though that this'll make your laptop work overseas? It does seem like it, so maybe that's a dumb question

MusashiX, the In-Line model is designed to handle the increased power load of overseas electricity, but you still need a power convertor and plug set to adapt US plugs to wherever you are going.
Something like this. You will have to plug your AC plug into the convertor, then attach the plug adaptor for the style of plug the country you are visiting uses.

The In-Line Surger supressor plugs in between the AC cord and the power invertor for your laptop. Get it?

Is the SurgeArrest Notebook the one that shows up at CompUSA for free after rebate every once and a while, if so just wait and it will probably show up again. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it when it was (I thought I would never get a notebook for years).

This surge protector looks like the one I recently bought which had an included &quot;bonus&quot; notebook surge protector--not a bad deal
(gave to daughter, so I can't give you any more specifics).
