Hi everyone,
I am buying this board and it will be arriving soon. My friend has this board but when he installed the MBM, the -12V and the -5.0V is showing weird numbers. It shows as -6.93V for the -12V and -3.63V on the -5V rails.
So why is that? What should be the settings? By the way, during the installation, he did pick the IS7 as an extra install option.
Memory Ratio:
How do you calculate what is the DRAM clock speed at a given FSB? On the board it has SPD, 1:1, 3:2, and 5:4. Which one is the highest ratio and so forth on down? Thanks.
Two more issues?
1) In the BIOS: The RAM is set as 2.6V as default instead of 2.5V.
2) In the BIOS: The AGP video is set as 1.55V instead of 1.5V.
Does anyone knows why is this? Does Abit overclock these components by default?
If you intend to put AS3 on the NB with the HS/F that originally came with it, make sure to remove the white piece of tape in a square under it. Put electrical tape instead over the tiny capacitors to protect them b/c it's thinner. The white tape is preventing proper contact for cooling of the NB. I did that and Prime 95 ran perfectly overclocking my P4 2.6C@3.0Ghz.
Thanks.
The Video card is ATI Radeon 9700 PRO. Then RAM is two 512MB Kingston HyperX PC3000, in dual channel as I plug them in DIMM 1 and DIMM3.
