I just installed w2k pro. I created a power user login for my daily use. The problem is that I cannot use my TDK Velo 12x burner in the power user account, because it saids I have to be Administrator in order to have access to cd-writers, is it true that I can't burn cds unless in Administrator mode? Also, I tried to modified the power management setting in my power user account, but it saids access denied, then I login using Administrator, changed the settings, logged back in with Power User, but the setting didn't change, does w2k keeps different power management setting for different users? How do I change my power user's settings? Thank you.

I would just use the "Runas" service. It should be under Start | Programs | Administrative Tools | Services. It will say 'RunAs Service'. Set it so automatic. Then you can right click on the application and run it as the administrator, after entering the password. 🙂 You could also just create an additional username with Administrative access. Many programs blindly require administrative access, and this is an easy way around it while still holding the security W2K provides.

I would set up your everyday login with Administrative rights. It'll get you around any probs being admin related.
