I am glad to they are trying to improve their design. The vrm cooling really is the Achilles heel of these coolers. Looking forward to a full review.

Yes will be interesting to see a review with VRM temp's, they don't mention anything about improved VRM H/S cooling or higher RPM fans (vs old/1000 rpm?) to drive more air for cooling the VRM's in that article so will be interesting. If this new cooler does cool the VRM's better than the previous Arctic it will be a nice upgrade for reference/oc users and maybe for even OC'ing a couple AIB models imo?

Yeah, personally I'd just buy a non-reference card and be done with it. The non-reference coolers for Hawaii and GK110 are decent I think.

I would like to see a perfect fit 2 slot design on these type of air coolers. They can do this on the waterblocks, why not these? Imagine Sapphire selling the Tri-X cooler as a separate kit, bolt right on to any reference design R9 290 series
