For a site like IMDB, easy access to information is more important than how good it looks. By putting information in columns where it was previously all left justified, I think they made the information more clear.

You can also rate titles now without going through a multi-step process.

Edit: I think the sidebar could use some rearranging. I don't know about anyone else, but the Trivia and Quotes sections are the ones I visit most frequently.

I understand that, and it still isn't very functional or pretty. WHile the new update is good, its no a fix. The entire layout is archaic and should be scraped and redone from the ground up.
