New iMacs Arriving Next Week?

Rumor has it that Apple is planning to announce new iMacs this Tuesday. Supposedly the new iMacs will have hardware upgrades (CPU, HDD, etc.) with no major design changes.

So says GeekSugar, which has a post up Thursday claiming Apple's about to tweak the all-in-one iMac desktop. It doesn't sound like much of an overhaul, just a speed bump to Intel's latest Penryn processors used by the MacBook and MacBook Pro and a larger hard drive, with no major design changes expected.

Think they'll change out that crappy ATI card for something like a 8600M like they have in the MBPs?

Probably not, which is the only thing keeping me from buying one. (Actually, I did buy one, then I chickened out and canceled the order).

Yea.. I bought one last year, after the upgrade. And while the machine wasn't horrible. The graphics card really is the limiting factor in that machine.

Seriously if they dont put a beter GPU in it then I'm just going to pass on it again. I cant understand why all of their other systems with GPUs have atleast the 8500/8600 series cards in them. I dont expect to be a top of the line 9800gtx but atleast something better then that POS ATI 2600 Pro.

I've been waiting a year now for a better iMac to come out. I'm planning on going top of the line on the purchase so hopefully the upgrade all of the insides.
