In order to help all our distributed prjects, I suggest we make a Case badge that we could send to new recruits. A small incentive of sorts to hav others join in. What do you guys think?
A Team AnandTech store is in the works....narzy and engineer (i think???) are the ones to talk to about this, however, as of late, we've had a problem with a potential logo infringment - we're trying to work around it.
It's not a bad idea(easy to ship is the key word), but we have to deal with costs of having them made, and the size(~1in X 1in is the max size), which makes them a bit on the high-end to do. If someone can make a good badge design, then I'll try to take Tripleshot(smacks BK) into trying to get a quote.
I need to get a quote first. If someone can rig up a basic design, we can then see if it's economicly feesable. Even if it's not cheap enough to ship freely, I'm sure we could easily sell some.
a request. make them thin so that us laptop users can use them also (i've seen some case badges that're thick, would be too easy to pull off if it gets caught on something, like the linux badge i ~used~ to have).

oh btw i'd buy one of these if the price was reasonable.

It's Tripleshot who is the other one. Tripleshot is the one that made all the wearable team stuff and is stuck with junk right now till this logo thing is taken care of. Then it will become cool stuff. Not Junk.
I think case badges were brought up before and someone (sorry I forget who) told me that a supplier was already lined up for them. But the quality of the badges from ocb is excelent, I bought 4 HardOCP badges from him and they are spectacular. I honestly did not expect them to be as good as they are. However if this was something you were planning on doing now you would have to look elsewhere as he is very backlogged now and not accepting orders until everything is caught up.
I know a company that can do laser etching on most anything for cheap. I made a case badge for my machine out of plexi and then laser engraved it there... The appropriate people could let me know if you wish to pursue this further. (MUCH BETTER THAN PRINTING!!)
I think you've got a great idea there! Our homebase GoT, which is on Tweakers as you all probably know, had its own casebadges too. There were a BIG thing here. Everybody wanted to have some. It makes the homebase popular and looks great too. Marketing RULES!
Maybe you can ask the GoT guys about the casebadges... What I remember the manufacturing costs were about $1 or so.
