New Idea for VGA cooling and safety

Installing gigantic coolers on VGA cards and the case is in vertical direction you will never carry ur case with a $ 500 monster installed with over 500 gms of metal standing in a bad position. Sometimes you won't even get the luxury to install big coolers.

For safety, you would have to lay ur case down but no suck casings around.

So here is my idea which will eliminate safety issue while giving a whole new level of cooling.

For some months i was wondering if the link b/w VGA card and the VGA slot could be extended... hmmmm.

Not at all an imposible task but there will be alot of work to be done.

If it can be done, you can put ur graphic card outside ur casing, apply worlds largest coolers on them and water cool them at the same time. There are alot of possibilities.

The best i could think of is making a copy of the base of the VGA card which goes into the mobo slot. Extend wires from it and then carefully connect to the card.

I will surely do it on my crap p3 as soon as i get done with my exams.

Anyone else would like to help?

Why would you need a large cooler if you are just gonna water cool? You can water cool and leave it inside your case, and have great temps..

What i am trying to focus on is the luxury of keeping ur card outside ur case. Its not just show off. Many ppl have fear that water leaks and u know........

extending the leads may not work, too long a signal path and crosstalk come to mind.. thats why ide cables are limited (generally) to 18 inches.
