Intel has released the Intel Application Accelerator drivers for the ICH5R that supports RAID 1 (previously only RAID 0).

Get them here: IAA version 3.5

Be aware though that your BIOS must support these 3.5 drivers. If you have an ABIT IC7-G you will get a message in WinXP after installing these drivers that your BIOS is not up-to-date. Your Raid0 will work fine, but no Raid1 until a new BIOS has been issued.

1. The system must contain the following Intel products:

* Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Processor
* Intel(R) 82801ER I/O Controller Hub

Shoot, the P4P800 Deluxe has an 82801EB (ICH5) controller hub... according to device manager. No IAAs compatible with my board. Come-on Intel, release them.... you know you have them.

EDIT: Darn windows auto-detect. The P4P800 Deluxe has the ICH5R/82801ER. Funny thing, i tried installing these drivers last night and they wouldn't take hold because the Windows Device Manager had the wrong item detected.

You're correct..... :-( I wonder why it wasn't detected properly in my computer. I'll have to uninstall those drivers and then use the new chipset identifier util and see if I can specify.

Maybe it's because I'm not using the raid function ? I have no clue.

the IAA is ONLY for RAID. Otherwise the controller is NOT recognised
