New i7 EVGA x58: USB Errors = Immediate Shut Off?

Greetings, all,

So, my new x58 motherboard with an i7 has been working fine for several days. However, as of yesterday, it shuts itself off after about 4 minutes. I tried entering the screen where one can pick between Safe Mode/Safe Mode with Networking/Etc. from the f8 key, and it even shut off from there, before Windows was loaded.

The POST Code on the Motherboard LED always hangs at 85, which my manual states refers to "Final USB Initialization".

I've tried having all USB devices-- including the mouse-- unplugged, but it still turns itself off. I've even disconnected USB devices from their respective plugins on the motherboard itself.

Any ideas? I really want to get back up and running ASAP... this whole new motherboard/etc. business seems like more trouble than it's worth, now...

Please post your system specs.

Thanks... interestingly enough, the problem was resolved by disabling and reenabling the USB controllers in BIOS. Ever heard of that one? At any rate, I'm just glad it's resolved.
