Ok, so Ive decided that Id like to share my media around the house, but there seem to be so many different ways to do it that Im stumped as to what to use.

The hardware I have :
x23800+ machine with XP
x23800+ machine with Vista Ultimate
4400+ machine with old Ubuntu build

1 XBOX 360
1 XBOX (not modded yet)

I would like to share my Mp3's, ripped movies, and saved tv shows with all of the above machines. The movies only have to be HD on my main TV,

I would like to know if there is a product , bi it MCE, or LinuxMCE or anything else, that would allow me to use all of the machines above in a home media network.

You need XP Media Center Edition. Vista will not work with version 1 extenders (the original xbox).
 
What would I be losing going to the older MCE as opposed to Vista's MCE?

Also isn't there a hack to make the older xbox work for vista?
