It simply rocks.
Prices are exptremely cheap...they are still starting though so they will have more airlines later...so far only domestic flights and 5-6 airlines.

You put the cities and the dates and they do a search for you and give you the price.
After you purchase that ticket you find out which airlines are you flying with and the times that you are flying.
But they are wayyyyyyyy cheaper than anything outthere.

i just paid $354 for the same tickets on priceline.com

Ahhhh yes Priceline. At the highpoint, over $100 per share. As of right now, trading at BELOW $7 per share.

You can say that about pretty much ANY .com or tech firm right now (with the exception of a few). I don't even bother to look at my Science & Technology mutual funds that I bought a long time ago, or I'd cry :(

It gave me a price of $166 round trip from ATL to PHL on 11/22-11/25, not so great since I just bought a ticket from AirTran yesterday for $170 with all taxes included, I don't have to connect anywhere, and I don't have to fly at crazy times...

Poor Shatner and Priceline.... Shatner became the spokesperson not for a upfront fee, but rather for a percentage of the company (and sales?)..... Eitherway, I hope they end those annoying comericals with Shatner on the mike, I change the channel everytime.

actually a friend told me that continental are running a special - basically $200 roundtrip anywhere in the us you guys may want to book your flights now :)

$455 for a round trip to Seattle from Columbus at Continental, your friend lied to you. For Hotwire it was $291, but I had to pay for the flight before I found out when and who was going to fly the damn plane. Oh their site is slow.

Another airline that's cheap is southwest.com... they are having $99/$109 each way fare anywhere in the US where they fly to... I got roundtrip tickets from austin to detroit for $217 total for the winter holidays... see if they fly to your area... I think a few airline companies in general are having lower fares...

cause i purchased 2 tickets already for $140 each before taxes coming to $160 after taxes

if so, then its not too bad
its still better than expedia/travelocity's $230 price :)

priceline is better in some cases...like
I just got a ticket Charleston, SC - Chicago on Priceline for $130+tax which makes it $154
Expedia had them for $206 and Hotwire gave the price of $178
So if the priceline doesn't work Hotwire is definitely a better option....

Hell yeah, Southwest has great specials. I'm flying Seattle to Reno for the holidays. $103 ROUND TRIP!

Can't beat that.

Shatner sold most of his stock awhile ago before the drop. He's pretty smart if you hear him talk in person or on TV in an interview.

I cant believe you all are buying tickets from priceline. Those tickets are not guaranteed tickets. If you get to the plane and its overbooked - you are the first one to get kicked off and do not get refunded.

Not worth the chance.

Your statement is entirely false. A priceline ticket is fully guaranteed as long as you show up for it. While it is true that you'll get involuntarily bumped before any full fare ticket holders, it is US DOT law that the airline must carry you and compensate you if you are involunatrily bumped and delayed more than one hour. It does not matter where you got the ticket from. For international flights, the Conditions of Carriage of any airline that Priceline tickets allows an involuntarily bumped passenger to fly on a later flight.

Also, even if it was true that the pax who paid the least were always bumped first, there are certainly people who have paid less for thier seat than you have, such as FF reward travelers, people using vouchers for previous bumps, airline employees, etc.

What you may be thinking of is Priceline's policy that if you are a no-show for a flight you will not get any credit. As long as you check in at the gate 15 minutes prior to departure (longer for International flights), you are guaranteed to fly to your destination.

in my experience you can't get VOLUNTARILY bumped froma flight b/c they dotn want to give you that extra compensation...i havent encountered involuntary bumping yet to see if priceline customers get first bump

It may be a supprise to you but there is a airline flying out of Omaha non stop to Vegas, (11:20 PM) that is always overbooked, I have taken a volintary bump on this flight many times and got 600 bucks in return. These 600 buck cupons are transferrable and can be sold or given away. I have gotten bumped twice in a row on this flight and fly for free most of the time to vegas. I find my best airfairs are from a very good travel agent I use.
