New Hood Installed

I think the stock 6.0 hoods are too extreme for the looks of the car. I would put a 5.7 hood on a 6.0 since it looks a lot cleaner. I do like your hood much better than the stocker.

i prefer your GTO stock, honestly. i rarely like black rims, and i think the hood scoop looks goofy as well i think. but if you like it, fair enough 😛

Yeah, I agree completely. Still, the GTO is a sweet car and that's an awesome color.

The new G8 GXP's are going to have more power than the GTO. IIRC they are about done with the run of the GTO and not updating it, or says a few leads in HPP.

Good looking car none the less though, I just wish Pontiac would have added mroe styling to keep with the name sake.

you need to debadge that GTO! looks great though, what happens when it rains though with that hood scoop?

Negative - debadging is for homo-rice, I'm not seeing that in either of these cars or in the OP.

 You're an idiot.

The hood is ugly. I do like what you did with the rest of the car though.

? The GTO has been out of production for over two years. The GXP will indeed have more HP, by a whopping 2HP, including about 300lbs more weight. The GXP should corner better though.

It was always my impression that ricers significantly boosted the badging on the car rather than debadging it. Regardless, there's no point in debadging a GTO, even with them, no one knows what it is anyway.

The side exit exhaust and the black wheels aren't ugly? Man, you people are all over the map here.

I thought 07 was the last year and they were still debating on an updated one or not, I'll have to reread the article. I also though it was around 20-30hp more, maybe they were comparing it to an older (o4 or so) model goat.

BTW car model years are about as messed up as Magazine Article Months. I think everyone I get is a few months ahead of what it really is.

I love side exit exhaust when done right, like vintage SCCA. Black rims nearly always look great.

As always, looks are subjective. I prefer the RA6 exhaust, but yours looks good. So long as the black rims have a polished lip, they can look good on a non-black car.

06, was the last model year. I was off a bit, the last GTO was produced July 7th of 06, so a bit less than 2 years:

The Real Last Monaro

04 GTO has 350HP, 05-06 400HP, G8 GXP 402HP.

I jsut took a look at the article again:

G8 GT is suppose to be on par performance wise with the 04 GTo but have better breaking and handling. ~13.8 1/4 mile times

G8 GXP has even bigger brakes and handling upgrades not to mention the 402hp LS3 (Vette LS3 has 430 according to that article its mainly exhaust changes)

Where I got confused on the engines was it said the GXP was a 402hp LS3 then went on to say compared to the GTO's 364 cubed engine. I was thinking they were comparing the same thing but turned out differently.

While re-looking at the article, I saw the G8 truck concept-puke. I also saw the Hardtop solstice which looks great in the magazine.

An 04 GTP CompG (260HP SC'd V6) is barely a 14.8 car stock, forget 13.8. You must mean the 05+ GP GXP (LS4 V8) which would still be a bit of a stretch.

The G8 GXP will also have an optional 6speed manual.

Your tires appear to be sticking out further than the body. Maybe it is the angle of the pictures. Other than that small detail very nice rides. 🙂

The wheels go right to the edge of the upper part of the wheel well portion of the fender. The fender lip is ground almost completly off. I did this in order to fit the wider tires without rubbing. They still sit inside, just very tightly.

The GT has a v8 361 hp LS engine. HPP states aproximate 1/4 mile same as a 04 GTO ~13.8 (another site states "a 6.0-liter V8 engine with 361 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque")

the GXP has the 402hp LS. and HPP states 1/4 mile ~13.0 (everything I see online says LS3 6.2 engine)

Thats right out of the article.

edit:
another site states "The G8 GXP will deliver zero - 60 in about 4.7 secs and a 1/4mile of 13 flat at 108mph"

and Yahoo Autos has the G8 GT at 361hp V8

In your original post, you said an 04 GTP, not GTO, which is a completely different car.
