What inputs are you using. What's your set up?
Cable TV?
Netflix?
Is your source turned on before you turn the TV on?
What's the issue with your remote?
After the first try when the screen is black, can you bring up the tv menue? Can you check to see the proper input is selected?

Details, it's important.

ok the TV.. when i hit the power button on the TV or the TV remote the TV comes on because there is a light on the front that comes on, but the screen is black.i tried to get the menu to come up but couldnt see it. today i noticed that the screen is on but all i can see is some faint shadows. then i hit the power button again on the TV or remote to turn it off and then on and the screen comes on nice and bright. i use a cable box with a yamaha A/V receiver, HDMI 1 input on the TV
the remote.. i have a harmony one, had it since 08 and havehad no problems with it till i tried to get this TV to work with it. it does work the TV but it doesnt know it hase to turn the TV on twice to get it to come on. now the remote got updated and now it dosnt work the receiver properly.

Just make sure the menu doesn't come up....

If it does, than it's obviously a combination of Source setting on your TV or your Receiver HDMI settings....
