New headset

I am thinking of treating myself to a new headset for Christmas. I am looking at the Turtle Beach x41. Any other suggestions? Wanting to keep it under 150.00ish

I have the x12s and they're pretty awesome. The x41s look like they're essentially a wireless 7.1 surround version of the same thing. Should be nice.

I was cheap and went with wired stereo set. My receiver does headphone surround pretty well anyway, so I didn't see the need to spend the extra $$$.

I just purchased the x41's from Woot when the refurbs were on sale for $74.99 - well worth it. Make sure you invest in some rechargeable AAA batteries, I just went through the ones that came with the headphones in about 4 days, but maybe 5-8 hours of gaming a day.

I'm debating against the X41's and DPX21's. I'm not real sure I like the thought of wireless due to all the "popping" issues people complain about. I don't mind a cable.

Anyone have the DPX21's? Only thing that concerns me is so many people complaining of their poor quality and they break 3-4 months into owning.

You can change the channel of your wireless router if it's causing any problems. I only get popping when I go in my kitchen, and I'd assume it's because of the microwave rather than my wifi. I constantly have my phone on wireless when I game and don't get any interference.

Good info. Do you have any issues with their durability?

And how's the MIC on them? I play Battlefield with a friend so I need to have that be issue free 🙂

Kind of - but keep in mind that mine are refurbished. I had a slight rattle in my right ear, and took apart the headphones twice - the first time I was looking for a loose screw or something but the second time I decided it was a wire that was just moving around. I taped it down and haven't had an issue since. I couldn't find anything online about it, so I doubt it's widespread.

Sounds good to me - just need to remember to keep it plugged into the controller.

The one problem I have is that there's no notice when the batteries are dead until the headphones just shut off. When you're in the middle of a game, that's really bad ...

Haha cool. Same issue as the xbox 360 controller that just dies in mid-game ;0)

X-41 only 140.00 on amazon. Looks like I am getting them but will have to wait until Christmas to use them...
