New here and have a few questions - I apoligize in advance if there is already a thread that addresses my questions - once I post I'll start reviewing prior info but thought I get some current ideas.

So I just purchased a new Panasonic Plasma HDTV 3D. Until a few weeks ago I had 9 year old LG Plasma - blew a ysus board - fixing it and will put in my bedroom. My equipment (older reciever, hd cable box, blu-ray3d player) are located in a closet some 40 feet away from the TV location. I currently have component cables running to my tv location. From what I've gathered to get the full experience of the new tv/3D I need to run HDMI cables - wrong or right - I don't truely know yet - that is why I have posted. What are my options? Looks like Bluejeanscable sell a "long run" cable. Does it support 3d? Any experience out there with that long run? Will an upgrade in receiver solve/simply my cable runs? What might be the best setup for my situation. I appreciate any ideas. Thanks-

What about the Ultra-thin Monoprice RedMere HDMI cable for the 50-ft run? Looks like a darn good product based on reviews and not a bad price.

So what I understand currenty with my ht system I have basically two options to enable my HDTV 3D to function.
(1) Continue using my old reciever. Run two 50-ft hdmi cables for video from blu-ray / cable box to tv. component will continue to supply audio from blu-ray / cable box to reciever.
(2) Buy new reciever. Two short hdmi runs (3-ft max.) from blu-ray / cable box to new reciever and then one 50ft hdmi run to tv.

What shall I do? What have I missed??
