Hey guys I just ordered 2 160gb 7200rpm Seagate Baracudas for 200.00 shipped. Do you think these are good drives?

Well, I'm going to try and raid them. There pata drives so I dont know if that harder to do or not or even worth it. Oh and I'm using them for mp3's and music recording. I do alot of multi tracking in cubase. Plus I do alot of dvi home movies. It seems like I'm always deleting something to make room.

you might just want to keep them as two separate drives, one for your os/what you're working on, the other one for storage. raid is probably an unneccesary risk in your case.

I have 2 of those and they actually test slightly faster than my SATA Maxtor! Seagate makes a great drive imo.

Both Storage Review and Anandtech say DO NOT BOTHER WITH RAID-0 for single-user desktop systems. I agree.
