New hdd time, i got some questions

I have a few questions im getting a new hdd, I plan to get the Seagate U150 80GB 7200RPM 8MB Barracuda 7200.7, now I have a 20 gig WD and it is a 2 meg(buffer i assume) so would this 8 meg buffered drive be faster? like would it be a good idea to put my OS system on it, make it the master with all my programs etc, and use the 20 gig for audios?

Can i use a combination of sata, and ata?
 
The 8Mb HD should be a faster. I would recommend to put your OS on it. Yes you can use a combination of SATA and PATA.
