I have this 300GB 7200RPM HDD inside my computer right now.
I want to by a 36GB 10,000RPM HDD to be my primary.

Currently, XP is OS on the only HDD I have (the 300GB).
Want to install XP on new HDD. Have games on my 300GB HDD, will I loose them?

The 36GB HDD will only be for my main 2 PC games + OS. Thats it. Downloads and other games in the secondary HDD (300GB). My question: I have an OS and games currently installed on the 300GB HDD. When running the OS from the new 10,000RPM HDD, can I access and play the games from my larger hard drive? Or will they all need a reinstall?

You won't lose any data, but the games won't play until they are re-installed so your new copy of the os has all it needs to run them. You can re-install them to the old drive, but they will need to be installed while the boot drive is running the os.

Why wont they work? Is there anyway to transfer the data from the games + registry + other misc things over to the new hdd?

You will have to install the games fresh, software too.
You can copy any "data" you have downloaded and stuff to the proper dir's. (maps, models, cfg's.)

As to why they won't work, you want to install XP on ur new drive. The games are "not" installed as far as ur new XP install is concerned.
