New Hdd Question

I just got a WD 40G 5400RPM hdd. It installed flawlessly. Seems like whenever it powers on or off, it makes a beeping noise. I've never had this happen on any other hdd I've owned. Has anyone else had this happen? It doesn't seem to be affecting the performance and all diagnositcs point to a healthy drive with no bad sectors.

It Beeps? Well, they don't have speakers so that can't be it... I would think it has some internal parts rubbing. I'd take it back. It may work for a while then cause you to loose inportant data. Or... It could work fine for years... Better safe than sorry. If it's new they should let you exchange it.
